MEMBERSHIP:
Membership shall be open to Nigerian Theatre Artistes/or foreigners who hold resident/working permits, engaged in the practice of Theatre In Nigeria. Members Shall Be Practitioners. They may be professionally oriented theatre Artiste or engaged in professions other than the performing arts, provided they are trained performers. Whether or not they are employed in the theatre, they shall engage in a minimum of two (2) productions annually. In lieu of physical involvement they may finance or cause to be financed a production annually. Membership shall exclude institutional membership
Fellowship MEMBERSHIP
Qualification :
- (a) Must have practiced consistently for a period of 15 years
- (b) Must have been a registered member of the Association for at least 10 years.
- (c ) Must apply through his or her state council to the National Secretariat.
- (d) Must have contributed to the growth and development of Theatre Practice in Nigeria and the Association.
Application for Fellowship:
- (a) A member may be nominated by his State Council or under the President’s merit list or apply directly for conferment of Fellowship to the Honours Committee.
- (b) Upon recommendation by the Honours and Privileges’ Committee, the list of worthy recipient of Fellows shall be approved by the enlarged NEC and accented to by the President.
- (c ) Where the President withholds his ascent without any justifiable reason. The President may be over ruled by 2/3 (two-thirds) of the NEC present at that meeting provided a quorum was formed before the commencement of the meeting.
- (d) The list of Fellowship recipients must be published not later than thirty (30) days before the investiture.
- (e) The Honours and Privileges Committee, subject to the approval of NEC may fix an appropriate processing fee to be paid by each applicant.
- (f) Each Fellowship recipient shall publish or cause to publish congratulatory message(s) in the investiture programme at a cost to be fixed by the secretariat.
- (g) Not more than fifteen (15) practitioners may be granted fellowship at any given calendar year.
- (h) Without prejudice to (g) above, at any special commemorative year, this number may be exceeded.
Privileges of Fellows :
- (a) Fellows shall be duly acknowledged and recognized at all NANTAP gatherings and functions.
- (b) Fellows shall be known and addressed as Fellow of Theatre Arts (fta). Awardees shall add fta at the end of their names.
- (c ) All fellows shall be admitted into the body of fellows.
- (d) All fellows shall be admitted at the National Delegates Conference as delegates
